Part 2: The Liturgy of the Word

• All 3 Server’s are to actively take part in the mass (for example: sing the songs, say the responses, attentively listen to the readings and homily, respond to the prayers of the faithful, etc.)
• Throughout the entire mass servers are expected to look the part. Unless they are doing a job servers should always hands in the altar server position. Servers should not be stomping their feet, playing with their cinctures or the crosses around their necks, starring out into the congregation, fidgeting and moving as if they had ants in their pants or doing any other action that is distracting and lacking in reverence. You are in the sanctuary assisting the priest, who is acting in the person of Christ, celebrating the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass; ACT ACCORDINGLY!
